This year in Government 12, I remember we learned about the Bill of Rights. I think the First Amendment is really important because we need the freedom of speech and press in order to keep everyone informed about the same information. Without the freedom of speech or press everything we do or see would be censored like China. Our assignment on the amendment topic was to create a power point on each of the amendments and how important they are.
One assignment that I remember from government class is when we talked about primary elections, we talked about how each person running for the 2016 presidential campaign. Hillary Clinton promises that if she is voted president in 2016 she will make women get paid the same amount as men and also be able to get the same jobs. Donald Tump wants to create a wall between America and Mexico; and he intends on Mexico paying for its construction. Also Trump wants to fix immigration laws in the United States of America. Burnie Sanders believes that he will try to make college free for everyone or at least make it more affordable so we get more people going to school and also because it is currently hard to get a job with just a high school diploma. In this assignment we had to create a powerpoint on the person that most interested us, I chose to do one on both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. Most people in class did their power points on Bernie Sanders because we are going to college next year and it would benefit us and thousands of other Americans planning on going back to school.
My most memorable moment of Government 12 with Mr. Rocha was being in a friendly environment with a teacher who was friendly and cool with all of his students. Also Mr. Rocha is a very understanding teacher that can relate to us, who had also grew up in the same neighborhood as us. My favorite memory of senior activities this year was prom, I didn't go to prom instead my friends and I went to Dave & Busters, Guitar Center, and also went to the theatre's to watch Captain America Civil War in 3D. My favorite memory in High School at Simon Tech would probably be in 10th grade when there where a large group of us playing poker at the end of the school year.
